An independent take on science
For a long time now I’ve had the feeling that some things aren’t the way we’re told. I can’t shake the sense that, behind the various official versions, hidden interests are at work — interests that end up governing some of the most important decisions in our lives.
If you’re reading this, you probably share that feeling. It may be that certain situations have made you rethink even the certainties that have been with you your whole life. You’ve gone from learning on “autopilot” to trying to cross-check any piece of information, and you value evidence far more than authority. You understand how important it is to train your critical thinking, and how dangerous it is to accept the established “truth” without even questioning it.
That’s why there should be no monopolies in science. Anyone is capable of observing, forming hypotheses, experimenting, analysing results and weighing the different points of view. And carrying out that whole process in an honest way, putting the search for truth first, is, actually, science.
Who we are
A small team of people who are deeply tired of the manipulation, the secrecy and the dogmas of “official” science and medicine. We’ve been trained to treat science as if it were an unquestionable religion, where the big institutions and the pharmaceutical companies decide what is real and what isn’t. If you disagree or ask one too many questions, you get labelled. We refuse to accept that monopoly on truth.
We’ve been walking this path of personal enquiry for a while now — studying, experimenting, reaching conclusions. To bring all this knowledge together we’ve decided to create this space and, along the way, to share it with people who are going through the same process.
What we publish
Short articles with data, information, ideas, insights and so on that we find interesting, aimed at a general audience and meant to be understood without too much effort.
We invite everyone to take part by sharing their own perspectives in the comments. We’re not trying to impose our truth — that would mean falling into the same hypocrisy we criticise — but rather to do our bit so that more people can find theirs. The true scientific spirit isn’t about swapping one dogma for another, but about constantly questioning everything, even our own certainties.
Science belongs to you
Real science requires no university degrees hung on the wall and no white coats. Science is an attitude. It’s observing, doubting, experimenting honestly and putting the search for truth ahead of economic or political interests.
actually ciencia is an independent space. It exists to remind you that science has no owner, no filters and, above all, that it belongs to you. We invite you to read, to doubt, to cross-check and to take back control of your own judgement.
